New Wine Sligo Summer Conference 2014

It seems strange that in the mouth of Christmas and Christmas Tree Festivals, I’m already typing up this article to encourage as many as possible to consider the New Wine Summer conference!

New Wine Ireland is an organisation with a vision is to see Ireland changed through Christians and churches being filled with the Spirit, alive with the joy of knowing and worshipping Jesus Christ, living out his Word, and doing the works of the Kingdom of God, and one of the ways they do this is by running a dynamic Summer conference in Sligo every year.

This conference has been a profound blessing to me (Simon) over the years, and the week in Sligo has been a time that I’ve looked forward to for high-quality, engaging teaching, powerful leadership in praise and worship, and fantastic opportunities to meet new people and have a laugh.  Although intense and invigorating in many ways, the conference values allowing people space to rest and relax, and I have always left feeling as if I have had a week off in the beautiful surroundings of Sligo rather than having a had a busman’s holiday!

David Parker from Desert Vineyard, California will be leading us through our morning Bible teachings each day, taking a fresh look at aligning ourselves with what God is saying to us through his Word. Then every evening a different speaker from Ireland and beyond will be challenging and inspiring us, all in the context of worship, stories and prayer ministry.  Alongside this, a full kids and youth programme will be running, as well as Our Place (a programme for those of any age with a learning disability) to allow us all to meet with God. There are seminars, forums, workshops, firepits, fun days, prayer rooms, quizzes, cafes, sunshine, beaches, and loads more besides!

So I want to highly recommend New Wine’s Sligo week to you as a choice for a Summer break in 2014 - a large number from the Cathedral have already signed up and we would love to see you there too!  Forms for the conference are available from Church, more information can be gleaned from visiting http://www.newwineireland.org or else talking to Simon (92676499)...

Hope many people from the Cathedral join in this special week from the 6th to the 11th of July,

Simon
