Hillhall Outreach & Community Harvest update

The Hillhall Outreach Team are looking forward to one of our highlights of the year - the Community Harvest in the Cathedral at 7.30pm on Friday 21st October when the speaker will be Mr Andrew Chestnutt who is a member of Flute Band Church based at Muckamore. The Cathedral musicians alongside a local Flute Band will lead our praise as we give thanks for God’s love and provision for us. Hilllhall Community Members will be involved in helping to make Harvest Displays and in singing with the Cathedral singers.

We are excited to be developing our partnership through the Hillhall Lighthouse and Community with special events at Harvest, Christmas and Easter each year. After a lot of hard preparation work it is good to look back with joy and thanksgiving to Saturday 17th September when we joined with a tremendous gathering of clergy and people in Belfast Cathedral to pray for peace in our land and to lay our burdens down at the foot on the cross. Divine Healing Ministries under the leadership of Brother David Jardine arranged this impressive day of prayer for our land. Brother David has been one of our visitors to the Lighthouse in Hillhall and we have also welcomed Peter Hewitt, a Director from Premier Christian Radio and Pastor David (Packie) Hamilton.

As a follow on from the Day of Prayer in September we will host a Day of Prayer for Peace and Healing in Lisburn Cathedral on Saturday 18th February 2017. This Day of Prayer is open to everyone and comes a year after the ReLENTless Prayer Initiative that saw 18 churches across Lisburn come together to pray for our City for 40 Days and Nights.

We invite members of those and every church to come to the Cathedral any time between 10am and 5pm on Saturday 18th February 2017. Packie Hamilton who will be one of the speakers during the Day of Prayer will also speak at the 11am service on 19th February 2017 in the Cathedral. A new venture this term is craft making classes led by Margaret Fullerton with the senior citizens group in the Resurgam Trust Building. We hope they and others from Hillhall might come along to the Community Carols service in the Cathedral on Monday 12th December at 7pm. It is the purpose of the Hillhall Outreach to tell the story of a living God whose grace and love is for everyone.

If you would like more information about the Day of Prayer or our ministry in Hillhall, I am more than willing to meet with individuals or groups to answer any questions you may have or to give prayer points for the future.

Billy Moore (Hillhall Commissioned Minister)
