Update from Friends in Action team - Tim, Denis & Keith

Three Lisburn Cathedral parishioners Denis Fullerton, Keith Forsythe and Tim Flanagan flew to Burkina Faso at the end of November to join the Friends In Action well drilling team led by Mark Collier and Tim Wilson.  After Sunday lunch with the Colliers, we headed for the Koudougou area over three hours drive away.

We found ourselves 5 miles off the main road, in a village, in the depths of the North African bush. Pastor Isaac, his wife and family live right beside the little church with a congregation of 250 in an area with many believers. They gave us a heartfelt welcome and led us in a prayer of thanksgiving for the return of the drillers to finish off the well almost completed by the previous team of volunteers from our neighbours on Legacurry Presbyterian church.

The team quickly got started drilling and by Tuesday evening they hope to have a well with a good flow of water.

What makes our work so worthwhile is that we are showing God's love in a practical way and the local pastors tell the people in the villages why we have come, that is, because God in his love, not only sent us here but also sent his Son to be the Saviour of all and sends his people out to tell of that love.  Keep praying for our safety and the work of God in people's hearts.

more to come.. Tim, Denis & Keith
