Position: Worship Intern for South Lisburn Community Church which is a church plant of Lisburn Cathedral

Direct Report: Ordained Local Minister and Dean of Connor Rector of Lisburn Cathedral

Hours: 8 hours per week

Summary: To be part of a vibrant growing church plant of Lisburn Cathedral in an area where there is hunger for the gospel and for people to come to know Christ. The Intern at South Lisburn Community Church is responsible for helping to lead the church in engaging worship for Sunday services, prayer and worship evenings (which are currently once a month) and special events as well as developing and coordinating all worship music aspects of the church. This person will be part of the South Lisburn Community Church leadership team and work to implement the vision of Church worship.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead worship at the service on a Sunday
  • Availability to lead worship segments at prayer and worship evenings, these are currently once a month
  • Coordinate church worship including recruitment, leading, spiritual growth, development and care of a worship team
  • Responsible for collaborating on, planning and executing Sunday and special event worship segments

Attributes & skills required:

  • Have a vibrant and growing relationship with Christ and a passion for worship
  • Must provide own transportation to/from the church
  • Ability to lead worship within a church
  • Passion and ability to recruit, lead and develop a worship team
  • Resourceful and innovative
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be available on Sundays and once a month for prayer and worship evenings
  • Must adhere to the Church of Ireland’s Safeguarding Trust Policy for the protection of children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities, including completing the Church of Ireland’s Safeguarding Trust training and passing a background check.

Expenses and Benefits:

  • £80/month for twelve months or the duration of the internship
  • All expenses paid on training, special events, and ministry expenditures
  • There will be opportunities for training and development within worship and ministry
